We managed to park right outside the pub- which was a bonus and the landlady explained the town parking situation to us straight away, to avoid getting a ticket. The pub was very lively when we arrived, possibly due to it being 'mad' Friday, but we couldn't hear anything from the room. We had to climb 2 flights of stairs for our room, which wasn't a problem for us, but might be worth bearing in mind if you are not too mobile. The view out of the window over the town and castle was fantastic. Breakfast the next day was nice- full English, cereals, toast (lots of) and tea / coffee. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Character little pub in the centre of town, I had room 6 upstairs so no noise at all, overlooking the castle. Friendly staff and good guest interaction, plenty of room , great bed and everything you need.Come and go as you please (keys) Centrally located for hiking/touring a great museum of the prestigious Green Howards regiment is a must for anyone’s itinerary. Overall I had a smashing 2 nights the only concern I had was the kettle was in need of a descale but that’s just cosmetic. I would definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to visit the area. Best wishes Kevin O’Neill

We liked that it was close to the centre and close to lots of walks. We have been to Richmond a number of times and always love visiting. First time staying at The Buck Inn. It's very friendly, a local pub type feel. The Inn is just round the corner from lots of other pubs and restaurants. From our window, we could see the castle, the churches, and the Tower of Culloden. Beautiful views. The room was great, everything you need. Kettle, coffee, tea. Bathroom essentials and a hairdryer. The room was warm and cosy. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great relaxing stay at The Buck, the staff were brilliant, breakfast was awesome, was such a quirky pub/hotel, our dog Barry was also welcome, all in all we had a great stay, we tried to book an extra day but the hotel had no availability but we were told to try their sister hotel just around the corner called The Turf, which was just the same, very clean and comfy, brilliant staff and a breakfast served up by the fantastic Sue the chef (great character).

We enjoyed our stay. The Buck is centrally located on a nice street in Richmond. Just a short walk to the town square and castle. Staff were friendly and professional. Room a nice large size and I must also note the huge TV! Everything clean and working well. Enjoyed breakfast in the bar downstairs, which we pre-ordered the night before via an efficient system. Overall excellent value for money and would happily stay again.
